Bus Trips

At New Berlin Recreation we are happy to offer special destination bus trips, focusing on providing an enjoyable and fun experience for participants. Transportation for these trips is a deluxe motorcoach with a restroom. You can sit back and relax without the worry of traffic, parking and trip details. Trips are designed for a variety of interests and we hope you can join us on one or more of the following adventures!

Holiday Shopping in the Windy City

Join us for a fun-filled, shop-til-you-drop day on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago! Chicago has long been a premiere shopping destination. From major department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks & Bloomingdales to specialty shops and boutiques such as Under Armour, Lululemon, American Girl Place, The LEGO Store, Niketown, & the Disney store, as well as fabulous shopping the city boasts a vibrant retail and restaurant scene that caters to the need of every shopper/diner. Not into shopping, enjoy one of the many attractions at Navy Pier or one of the museums at the lakefront Museum Campus by way of bus, taxi or Uber! Make this a family or friends’ traditional shopping day. Come with us early and beat the traffic and the crowds! Light snacks and water will be provided. Registration Deadline: October 16th

Mama Mia at Marcus Performing Arts Center

Registration Process

• Specific information and details regarding each Trip will be listed in the New Berlin Recreation Department Activity Guide.

• Residents and Non-residents are welcome to participate.

• You may register for trips online or mail in your registration form to 15321 W. National Ave. New Berlin, WI 53151. Payment in-person can be cash, check, or credit. Checks should be made payable to: New Berlin Recreation. Register online at: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/newberlin/home

• A receipt/confirmation will be mailed when registration is processed.

Participation Expectations

• Trip participants shall be self-sufficient or have with them a paid/registered companion to assist with specific needs. This includes but is not limited to walking, sitting, standing, eating, and using the restroom.

• Any individual seeking special accommodations needs to make the department aware of their special needs when registering for a program.

• All trips have a minimal amount of walking involved – if the trip has an excessive amount of walking or stairs that information will be included in the trip description.

• Wheelchair participants must make the office aware of their participation as the number of participants will need to be adjusted and special accommodations will need to be made - unfortunately not all destinations will be fully accessible.

• Trip participants will treat each other, trip escort, staff, drivers, and volunteers with courtesy and respect.

• Please return to bus at the required announced time, so the group does not have to wait.

• The trip escort must be notified if you leave the trip early (example: riding home with another individual, remaining with a family member at the destination, etc.)

• For Broadway shows, the trip escort will try to seat groups together and seats are primarily located in the Lower Orchestra.

Rules and Regulations

• Children registering for the trip must meet the age minimum specific to that trip and much be accompanied by a paid parent/guardian.

• Once the trip is filled, a waiting list will be taken.

• Refunds: All registration for bus trips are non-refundable. Refunds may be given for trips if a replacement is found.

• Buses will leave promptly at the time designated on the confirmation forms. (Please arrive early to allow time for checking-in)

• All trips depart from the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center, 15321 W. National Ave. New Berlin, WI 53151.

• Participants will board the bus at the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center parking lot. Participants can proceed to the bus when it comes to a complete stop.

• Once on the bus, the trip escort will check everyone in.

• Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not allowed on the bus.

• Tipping is a personal decision. If you wish to tip, the customary gratuity is $1-$2 per person per day if the driver demonstrates a professional and friendly demeanor. The driver who becomes a positive memory of the trip should be rewarded with a tip. If you choose to give the bus driver a tip, please hand it to him directly.
