How It Works

The New Berlin Fire Department takes part in the File of Life program. This magnetic, plastic pouch is 5 inches by 4 inches and is placed on a refrigerator door. The pouch contains a three-part, foldable card that lists:

  • Allergies
  • Emergency contacts
  • Medical history
  • Occupant names
  • Prescribed medications
File of Life

The highly visible and easily accessible pouch helps emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and police officers get critical information during an emergency situation. If an occupant is unable to answer questions for any reason, emergency personnel have all of their pertinent information readily available.
