UTILITY BILLING

Per Wisconsin State Statute §66.0809, if your October utility bill has a PREVIOUS BALANCE that is NOT paid by OCTOBER 31st, it is subject to a 10% penalty.

If the previous balance, plus the penalty, is NOT paid by November 15th, the Utility may transfer that balance to your tax bill.


Acceptable Payment Methods:

In Person or by Mail

The Finance Department accepts checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, and cash as payment. We do not accept credit / debit card payments at City Hall. Please bring your remittance slip for ease of processing.

Payment Drop-Box

For your convenience, there is a 24-hour drop box in the lower parking lot of City Hall available for payment of your utility and tax bills.

  • Please include your payment stub, along with a check in a sealed envelope before depositing.
  • Payment deposited in the drop box on the due date (collected at 7:00 a.m. the following business morning) will be considered paid on time.  (For example, for bills that are due on a Friday - all payments collected from the drop box at 7:00 a.m. the following Monday will be considered on time.)

  • Utility Billing: An online portal to view bill history, make payments, and sign up for automatic payment from a bank account

  • E-Check - $1.95
  • Credit Card - $5.95 - Transaction limit is $325
  • Automatic direct payment from bank account - No fee

Automatic Payment Plan

The City of New Berlin also offers an automatic payment plan for your water, sewer, and stormwater bill. To sign up, please complete the ACH Direct Payment Fillable agreement form  (pdf) authorizing your financial institution to automatically deduct the amount of your bill from your account. Send the form and a voided check to us at:
