[ARCHIVED] City of New Berlin Considers Suspending Privilege of the Floor

On Tuesday, March 24th the New Berlin Common Council will discuss and take possible action on suspending Privilege of the Floor during Council Meetings. Privilege of the Floor is a 30 minute period prior to the Commencement of each regular Common Council meeting during which time any person may address the Council for 3 minutes.

Residents would instead be allowed to submit their comments to citizencomments@newberlin.org. Submitted comments will then be distributed to the Council in advance of the meeting. Residents that were planning to participate in the upcoming meeting (3/24/20) during Privilege of the Floor are encouraged to submit their comments via the above email in anticipation of this action.

This is in response to the recent March 17th directive by the Governor’s Office, ordering a statewide moratorium on mass gatherings of 10 people or more to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
