The City of New Berlin Emergency Management will participate in the statewide tornado drill on Thursday, April 24, as part of Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The usual 30-second 10 a.m. siren test will instead be done for 3 minutes at 1:45 p.m. This is the duration for an actual warning.
In addition, alerts for both the mock tornado watch (at 1 p.m.) and warning will be issued over NOAA weather radios. Weather radios should be turned on for this test, as it's a great opportunity to check your radio's programming and quality of reception.
We hope residents will join us during this opportunity for schools, businesses and families to practice safe procedures for severe weather.
