New Berlin, WI - The City of New Berlin is excited to announce that the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center is partnering to provide complementary memberships to members of the nationally recognized SilverSneakers® program. Through this collaboration, the New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center will now offer older adults a way to increase their levels of physical activity while motivating them to remain active.
“We are thrilled to partner with SilverSneakers” stated Katie Roth, Manager of the New Berlin Recreation and Activity Center. “This collaboration emphasizes our commitment to a healthier community.” Gregory Kessler, Director of Community Development states, “our mission here, with the addition of SilverSneakers, is to empower seniors to take charge of their health and enjoy life to the fullest. We understand that staying active is crucial for maintaining one’s health, independence, and overall quality of life. The addition of this program offering at the ARC is designed to support seniors in their fitness journey, no matter when they start.”
SilverSneakers is a health and fitness program designed for adults 65+ that’s included with many Medicare plans. The Silver Sneakers RecPASS at the Activity and Recreation Center includes access to the walking/running track (7 laps to a mile) and 12 pieces of cardio and strength equipment. It also provides open gym access for activities like pickleball, basketball, and volleyball.
